Terms & Conditions
Please be aware of the following terms and conditions, which apply for ALL singing lessons. Your payment is accepted as confirmation of your agreement to these terms and conditions.
Children's Singing Lessons
- The commitment for children’s singing lessons is for regular weekly lessons, with a regular weekly time slot.
- After an initial taster lesson, if you wish to commit your child to lessons, there is a minimum 1-term commitment (10-12 lessons, depending on the school term length).
- In the case of key stage 1 aged students, commitment to a shorter trial period of 6 weeks may be possible if agreed upon in advance (please discuss this with me ahead of booking).
- A shorter-term commitment for lessons specifically for audition / performance preparation may be possible on the basis of a case-by-case arrangement, subject to my availability. Please ask me about this directly at the time of enquiry.
- Regular lessons are charged at the rate of £45 per hour.
- Lessons are 30-minutes, 45-minutes or 60-minutes, depending on your child’s age, standard, and requirements, and will be agreed upon at the time of booking. As your child progresses, if I feel they would benefit from a longer lesson I will discuss this with you. An increased lesson length will never be an obligation, only a recommendation.
- Lessons are scheduled in line with the Wiltshire school term dates, with an estimated 36 lessons per year.
- When possible, I also offer a continuation of lessons during half-terms and school holidays for those who would like them. When holidays are coming up I will let the parent/guardian know about my upcoming availability and if lessons are desired during this period, these extra lessons can be scheduled accordingly.
- Payment is due monthly, on or after the 10th of the month, as per our individual agreement. You will be charged for the number of lessons due to take place within that 1-month period. Please note: the conditions regarding lesson cancellation and termination still apply even for lessons not already paid in advance.
- A minimum 48 hours notice is required for the cancellation or postponement of any lesson. Any lesson missed or postponed with less than 48 hours notice will be charged for.
- Any lesson postponed with more than 48 hours notice for feasible reasons, such as illness or an essential medical appointment that cannot be rearranged, will be made up within the term time where possible. If this is not possible, then there may be the option to make up the lesson during the school holidays. If neither of these options is possible, it will be carried forward as credit for the next monthly payment.
- In the case that I need to cancel a lesson that has already been paid for, I will do my best to offer an alternative slot. If this is not possible or we cannot find a slot that works for you, any lesson over-payment will be carried forward as credit for the next monthly payment.
- Where necessary, I may purchase/print out sheet music for the student. This shall be discussed and agreed upon in advance with the parent/guardian. The balance of the associated costs is to be paid within 7 days.
- Where desired, students may be entered for singing exams or music festivals. Entry will be dependent on the students’ wishes, goals, and whether or not I consider them ready for this step. In the run up, additional lessons may be required to ensure the student is fully prepared. All steps with regards to this will be discussed and agreed upon with the parent/guardian before a decision and financial commitment for the entry is made.
- All exam / festival fees will be invoiced in advance, and the student will only be entered once I have received the associated fee.
- A minimum of 6 lessons' advance notice for termination of lessons must be given in writing via email, or 6 lessons paid for in lieu. In the case of a student wishing to pause lessons for a period, the same 6-lesson notice period applies as for the termination of lessons.
Adult Singing Lessons
- Lessons for adults are 1-hour and are offered on a weekly / bi-weekly basis, or ad hoc, and continue throughout the year unless communicated otherwise.
- The rate for weekly / bi-weekly lessons is £45, with a minimum 3-month (12 / 6 lessons) commitment.
- Where possible, weekly / bi-weekly lessons take place at the same agreed time-slot each week / every 2 weeks. If your schedule does not make this possible, please discuss this with at the time of booking and we will come to an alternative arrangement.
- Ad hoc lessons are charged at £60 per 1-hour lesson. This rate may be reduced after 6 months for those who show regular commitment (e.g. at least 1 ad hoc lesson per month over a minimum of 6 months).
- Payment for regular lessons is due monthly, on or after the 10th of the month, as per our individual agreement. You will be charged for the number of lessons due to take place within that 1-month period (a minimum 2 lessons, with the exception of August or other holiday periods when our joint schedules do not allow for at least 2 lessons). Please note: the conditions regarding lesson cancellation and termination still apply even for lessons not already paid in advance.
- A minimum 48 hours notice is required for the cancellation or postponement of any lesson. Any lesson missed or postponed with less than 48 hours notice will be charged for.
- Any lesson that is cancelled with more than 48 hours notice for feasible reasons, such as illness or an essential medical appointment that cannot be rearranged, will be made up within the same month if possible. If this is not possible and it has already been paid for, it will be carried forward as credit for the next monthly payment.
- In the case that I need to cancel a lesson that has already been paid for, I will do my best to offer an alternative slot. If this is not possible or we cannot find a slot that works for you, any lesson over-payment will be carried forward as credit for the next monthly payment.
- Where necessary, I may purchase/print out sheet music for you. This shall be discussed and agreed upon in advance. The balance of the associated costs is to be paid within 7 days.

- All exam / festival fees will be invoiced in advance, and the student will only be entered once I have received the associated fee.
- In the case of a student with a weekly / bi-weekly lesson commitment wishing to terminate lessons, a minimum of 6 weeks' advance notice must be given in writing via email, or 6 weeks lessons paid for in lieu. In the case of a student wishing to pause lessons for a period, the same 6-lesson notice period applies as for the termination of lessons.
